Fitness Friday

When it comes to training for a Tough Mudder, Ruckus Run, Warrior Dash, or other adventure race these are some great tips to get you to the finish line faster.

Some simple insight from the video

Train running but not just on flat ground, on hills, gravel uneven ground and through uncomfortable areas like cold water.

train full body exercises, pull-ups and grip to get you ready for the obstacles.

Remember the race will not be a strict race, you are are going to have obstacles that will break up the run. Few races will have more than a one mile run between obstacles so train some 400 meter runs 200 meter runs along with your longer mile times.

by Integrated Fitness on September 16, 2011

Post image for CrossFit Rope Climbing Technique

When it comes to rope climbing there is a lot more than simply pinching the rope with your feet and using your arms to go up the rope.

CrossFit Games Rope Climbing

This year at the CrossFit games rope climbing played a huge role in the events. With the major crowd Following from ESPN CrossFit Games many people are interested in how to effectively climb the rope

ESPN Cross Fit Rope Climbing

When it comes to climbing the rope on ESPN the rope was 15 feet high (about 7 feet shorter than our 22 foot high ceiling). Different competitors had very different techniques for getting up the 15 foot climb.

Getting up…. Only half the Battle

When it comes to climbing the rope getting up the rope is literally only half the battle. Getting down the rope can use as much or more energy if you don’t have proper technique.

You can’t just drop

CrossFit Games made a rule this year where you may not simply drop off the rope to get down faster. You must climb down the rope

How To Run Faster

by Integrated Fitness on September 2, 2011

Running faster is all a matter of form.

The video talks about the form of running and how different strides will work best for different types of races.

Marathon Race

When you are running a marathon you are not going to pull your legs up as high as you would with a sprint. Having a clean and efficient stride can make the difference between an injury in the 11th mile, and an impressive finish

Sprinting

Sprints are all about explosive power combined with great form. You want to make sure that your legs and arms are moving in the best way to push you forward at the fastest speed possible.
