Year Round Healthy Living Tips from Candice Kumai:
Living healthy does not just have to be New Year’s resolution that eventually fizzles off. Candice Kumai is a health-focused celebrity chef as well as the author of Pretty Delicious and a co-host on Lifetime’s Cook Yourself Thin. Kumai has plenty of tips for leading a healthy life all year round.
Moderation is unbelievably important. Moderation is not a new way of living or eating and is one of the easiest things you can do, according to Kumai, to help keep yourself thin all year round. It is important to remember that all things are better in moderations – including food.
Kumai also indicates that it is okay to indulge a little. It is okay to indulge at a special occasion or around the holidays. There is no need to go overboard, but indulge in moderation. According to Kumai, indulging helps you to fight those food temptations. Depriving yourself of all things good will make it much more difficult to stick to your healthy eating plan.
Kumai reminds readers and viewers of her show that healthy substitutions are a must. She reminds users that healthy substitutions can go a long ways. Replace butter with olive oil. Greek yogurt instead of mayonnaise or sour cream. Use almond milk in place of milk or creamer. If you are a soda drinker, opt for diet.
Avoid starving yourself or going hungry. Skipping breakfast and going straight to lunch is not going to help you lose weight, according to Kumai. Kumai also recommends that you avoid going to the grocery store hungry. This may lead to a whole lot of unnecessary purchases.
Use a smaller plate when eating any meal. A smaller plate with give you the appearance that you are eating a full plate of food. This can prevent overeating. If you are going to a cocktail party or a buffet, limit yourself to just one plate.

Most individuals would likely agree that those in Hollywood have a better chance of aging than the average everyday Joe. Why? Access to personal trainers, stylist, make-up artists and even the route of plastic surgery, leave those in the spotlight looking like they haven’t aged a day. Too often, it’s the leading ladies of Hollywood that take center stage for aging gracefully as well as naturally. But, what about the men? Here are some of Hollywood’s leading men and their tricks.

Jackman has recommended boxing to anyone who wants lose a few pounds and have a little fun along the way. It’s tough, engaging and anything but boring.
Patrick Dempsey. At age 45, Dempsey plays everyone’s favorite doctor on the hit TV series, Grey’s Anatomy. Dempsey lifts weight and is an avid bike rider – he reportedly likes to ride up to 100 miles per week. Bike riding is an excellent calorie-burner – think 500+calories per hour. Demspey is so passionate about biking that he started The Dempsey Challenge in 2009. This event allows participants to bike, run or walk in order to raise funds for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing.
George Clooney. At age 50, Clooney has endured some health issues – like malaria and a tear in his dura mater – yet is still in great shape. One of his favorite activities is Bikram or hot yoga. Anna Paquin, the 28-year-old award winning actress, is in the midst of a red-hot career thanks to her role in the HBO series True Blood. With amazing energy both on and off screen, Anna manages to keep it together when it comes to diet, exercise and relaxing despite her hectic lifestyle.
Like most individuals, Anna admits she has a few less-than-healthy habits. Her biggest guilty pleasure? Too much coffee. She wishes she could replace the coffee with more water. She tries to eat well and sometimes eating well can become a little bit of an obsession of hers. When it comes to dieting, she doesn’t think people can stick with diets long term. If an individual is looking to improve their body for an upcoming event or vacation, she believes in regular diet and exercise; not fad diets to achieve a weight loss goal.
Fitness and True Blood
Anna is also an avid fitness enthusiast. Her favorite workout by far is boxing. She goes a couple of times per week. Workouts include jumping rope and pads. Trainers call out workouts for her to complete. Another enjoyable workout for Anna is hot yoga. Despite the fact that people look at her like she’s crazy when she tells them she enjoys working out in 105-degree heat, she loves it.
Whether you are Anna Paquin or just an everyday individual, relaxation is important. To relax, Anna takes baths or she’ll watch a DVD on her laptop. Anna also enjoys just relaxing in her bed.
