There’s no denying that Julie Foucher is a Crossfit Superstar – so how does she spend a typical day? Let me tell you there’s nothing glamorous about it, there are no magic tricks – just plenty of determination and tons of hard work.
Here goes . . .
Wake up at 6.30am - black coffee, shower then breakfast which consists of 2 whole eggs, 2 egg whites, almond butter and fruit.
Although Julie admits that she doesn’t religiously measure and scale her food intake it actually rarely changes.
8am – 12 noon – Julie attends Medical School. As a medical student on a five year study course Julie spends much of her time studying. Just like Crossfit she says that studying may not always be fun but it is always worth the effort.
12 noon – eating and more studying. Julie confesses that by the time class is over she’s starving and more than ready for meal #2. Preparing a weeks’ worth of meals at the weekend means that she never gets stuck. Meal #2 is typically meat, green beans or asparagus with sweet potato.
Meal #3 is typically meat and almonds.
6pm – Training time. At last Julie can trade her books for her kettlebells, her white coat for her Crossfit socks – whilst Julie is the first to admit that the lifestyle she has chosen means plenty of sacrifices she also feels that it is absolutely worth it. Her training session usually starts with a lift of some sort followed by conditioning work then skill work. She spends at least a couple of hours at the gym not leaving until well after 8pm.
Meal #4 – post workout meal usually consists of a smaller portion of meat than the other meals and some sweet potato.
9pm – 12 midnight – more studying and research is in store for this busy Crossfit Superstar which means that she usually enjoys a maximum of six hours sleep. Before bed she tries to fit in one more meal,
Meal #5 – meat, green beans and almond butter
